It's Pumpkin Patch time again. This year we have added crafts, baked goods (like pies, muffins, rolls and bread.) It is alot of work and alot of fun. For the arrival, we had a hamburger-hotdog cookout before unloading a semi truck full of pumpkins and gourds of every imaginable size and color. It took a bunch (hundred or so) of people and about two and a half hours. Sadly, we don't have pictures of that yet because they will be really funny. Joel was doing his best Ty Pennington imitation, complete with ladder and all. Now we are busy selling and rolling--and rolling and rolling and rolling all those pumpkins.

"Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is in prison."--
Henry David Thoreau
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can excercise their constitutional right of amending it, or excercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it." ~ Abraham Lincoln.
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt 1907
